Every day, we offer enrichment activities to keep everyone entertained and motivated. This could include any combination of the following:
Watching movies
Playing games
Exercise machines
Internet access (iPad, Kindle, and desktop)
Themed Zoom conferences
Arts and crafts
Gardening
Sports
Flying kites
Lunch outside
Walks around the premises
Snack curated to a theme or holiday to keep it interesting and fun!
Offered ~one hour before lunch every day
Although staff may assist with some lunch preparation, clients are encouraged to bring something they can prepare their own.
Each week there are several opportunities for clients to visit exciting new places in the community on a Community Outing.
Outings usually fit into one of the following categories (with some examples):
Boa Vista Orchard at Apple Hill
WinCo / Costco - clients help restock program supplies, choose options for snacks, and pick out goodies for our Friday Student Store
Our dedicated staff regularly provide curriculum to keep everyone sharp! Curriculum is tailored to each individual and may include math, logic, science, English /ASL/foreign language, personal information practice, common signs in the community, etc. We also have pre-assembled art projects so everyone can showcase their artistic prowess!
At our Citrus Heights location, each individual is evaluated and a Behavior Management Plan is curated specially for them to help reduce certain problem behaviors. More info here.
