Pathway To Choices offers a Day Program for special needs adults (age 21 and over). Clients receive non-medical care and supervision for the duration of their time at program. Each staff cares for a maximum of 3 clients while at program. The day program duration varies by location and day of the week, but is around 5 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
We are accepting clients of the ALTA Regional center, Regional center of the East Bay, and the Golden Gate Regional Center.
Every day, we offer enrichment activities to keep everyone entertained and motivated. This can include watching movies, playing games, exercise machines, internet access (iPad, Kindle, and desktop), themed Zoom conferences, arts and crafts, as well as some outdoor activities like gardening, sports, flying kites, lunch outside, and walks around the premises.
Pathway to Choices offers a snack to clients about an hour before lunch every day. We curate the snack to a theme or holiday so snack time is always interesting and fun! Clients are encouraged to bring a lunch that they can prepare themselves. Although staff may assist with lunch preparation, clients are encouraged to prepare their own.
Each week there are several opportunities to visit exciting new places in the community on a Community Outing. Some places we have visited include Boa Vista Orchard at Apple Hill, Bass Pro Shop, Fireside Lanes Bowling, the Nimbus Fish Hatchery, the Golden 1 Center, and much, much more! We regularly venture to our local grocery stores where clients help restock program supplies, choose options for snacks, and pick out goodies for our Friday Student Store!
Our dedicated staff regularly provide curriculum to keep everyone sharp! Curriculum is tailored to each individual and may include math, logic, science, English /ASL/foreign language, personal information practice, common signs in the community, etc. We also have pre-assembled art projects so everyone can showcase their artistic prowess!
At our Citrus Heights location, each individual is evaluated and a Behavior Management Plan is curated specially for them to help reduce certain problem behaviors. More info here.
