"Pathway to Choices began as a personal decision to improve direct services for individuals with developmental disabilities. My experience at the San Francisco Juvenile Hall as a Youth Counselor for seventeen years gave me the ability to understand these people. I worked with youth with mental illness and self-destructive behaviors, and by helping them create personal goals, I was able to improve and impact their lives in a positive manner.

"In 2002, Pathway to Choices was born. I became involved with the different aspects of social services, and offered Supporting Living Skills (SLS) and Independent Living Skills (ILS) services to the community. Our agency is currently made up of excellent workers who care deeply about others and strive to help them to accomplish their goals. I see Pathway To Choices as a family, made of our clients, employees, and management. Our motto is to assist people in every possible way and to invite anyone who is (or is involved with) a person with disabilities to join the Pathway to Choices."

"For many years I worked in a financial institution, but seven years ago, I came across the social service field as an ILS Instructor. I was touched when I saw how my clients awaited my visit and were so happy to see me. My relationship with my clients inspired me to grow in this field, so my family and I began Pathway to Choices in December 2002. Our agency expanded with new clients and instructors, and then management was a necessity. I began attending HR training to make improvements and keep our business updated.

"I enjoy what I do because I am constantly learning new things about the business, our clients, and our employees. Our workers are open-hearted people, sharing their lives with clients as if they are one big family. I would like Pathway to Choices to expand even more, so that we can reach out to more families. Pathway to Choices is here to serve developmentally disabled people with dignity and care. My wish is to assist people with disabilities or anyone who is involved with them and let them know that there are options available for everyone who needs them."
